Arya, the name of Azerbaijan in Urartian inscriptions

Now, with the expansion of archeology knowledge, we know that the Aryan people (Indo-European) have their roots in the north and northwest of Iran (homeland of Aryans). 

According to the scientific researches of the Max Planck Institute and some European scientists, the Iranian origin of the Europeans becomes clearer every day, and the Sasanian belief that Azerbaijan is the centrality of the holy land of the Aryans, as the first habitat and land of the Aryans, becomes stronger. 

The Sassanians were always of the opinion that Iranvij or Iranshahr was the center of the first Aryans in Azerbaijan and even the great Iranian divine prophet Zoroaster was born in Azerbaijan. 

Now with the knowledge that we have from the historical sources of ancient Greece, the translation of Urartian texts and the researches of current European scientists, the belief that Azerbaijan was the first Aryan and the homeland of the Aryans becomes stronger. 

Herodotus said that Pars, Medes and Balkh used to be called Ariana. 

According to the findings of the Armenian archeologist Joseph Beverly, in 1912, the Urartian king Sarduri II mentioned the land of the Aryans in Azerbaijan. 

Urartu was one of the ancient civilizations of eastern Anatolia, and speculations continue about its heirs and which civilization the ancestors of Urartu are, but probably Urartu is the ancestor of Armenian civilization. 

The center of Urartu civilization was located in the current city of Van in Türkiye. 

In the translation of the Urartian inscription of the well-known king Sarduri, it says: 

I went to the country of Manai, conquered the country, burned the cities, looted the villages and exiled the people to Bayaina. In the same year, my troops went to the country of Ariahini [Ariak or Ariakh] and conquered the country, burned the cities, plundered the villages.

These descriptions of victories are repeated many times:

In the same year, I went to Ariahini for the third time and burned the cities and looted the villages and exiled the people to Bayaneh. I built forts in Ariahini and annexed the country. I praised my eternal God. I imprisoned: 6,436 men, 15,553 women. In total, I have [removed from their country] 21,989 people, some killed and others alive. 1,613 horses, 115 camels, 16,529 head of cattle, 37,685 sheep [I have taken]. 

Some believe that Arya Hini was in the north or near Ararat, but anyway, the presence of Aryans and their settlement in Azerbaijan can be seen in Urartian documents, which is in line with the history of Herodotus, the father of history writing. Herodotus said that earlier Medes, Persia and Sogd were called Ariana. We know that the Aryan Medes lived in Azerbaijan, Hamedan, present-day Tehran and Greater Kurdistan, and the primary political center of the Medes was located in Hamedan or Hegmatane, and the religious center of Medes was the land of the sacred fires of the Aryans in Azerbaijan.  

Mojtabi Shahmiri, a young Iranian scholar of history, translated and published a few paragraphs from Shah Sardori's almanac found in a Turkish bath. The name Aria is seen in the form of ERIA in the land of present-day Azerbaijan in connection with the Mana civilization.

In this translation, it is said that Shah Sarduri marched to the land of Mana in Arya. This almanac is known as Sardori almanac. 

Despite the mention of Urartian inscriptions to the people of Aryan race in Azerbaijan and Herodotus' statement on the name Arya on Media, Persia and Sogd, we can accept the idea of ​​the Sassanians regarding the delay of the presence of Iranians and Aryans in Azerbaijan. 

The translations of the inscriptions and stone inscriptions of Aurora Tui lead us to the conclusion that the name of Azerbaijan in the past was ERIA, or in modern terms, Iran.
